A couple of weeks ago I went to visit my kids. While hanging out with Ms. A, she introduced me to chai tea latte. It was love at first taste!! What I didn't care for was the fact that it is made with black tea. Once I returned to my home, I started to experiment to see if I could come up with a caffeine free version. This is what I came up with:
Chai Tea Latte Mina Style
(Makes 4 cups)
2 ginger tea bags
1 cups water
3 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp vanilla
3 pinches ground candamom
1/8 tsp ground cinnammon
2 cups milk, chilled
ice
Make a tea with the tea bags, water, and honey.
Remove the tea bags and allow tea to cool.
Place all ingredients except the ice in a blender.
Blend until bubbly.
Drop ice into large cup.
Pour liquid over ice.
When I made this, I couldn't drink all four cups of it, so I made paletas (popcycles) out of the rest. I think I might like it better as paletas than as tea!!!
